I would. :)

I would consider that highway robbery...
Since everything is programs in (supposedly) portable C, I assume it
would be trivial to make those plug-ins for all platforms. In fact, I
think that is the reason Xaos was given exclusive rights to LW SGI, so
they would produce plug-ins for all platforms. Also, from what I
understand (someone correct me if I'm wrong...), the Amiga LW market is
still the largest, mainly due to Toaster and Flyer users. I DO intend to
add a faster computer to my system (once I can afford it... maybe an
Alpha), but I would still like to use my Amiga for ALL the things the
second platform would be able to do.
It should be simple to make Amiga versions -- even including the IBM docs
-- would seem more like an easy way to make some extra money than
anything else. But I have yet to get a C compiler to try out any C
programing myself, so I'll probobly get flamed from some real programers
about this (please flame privatly...)
Why be multiplatform if you have to get each platform to use each plug-in?
I can understand speed being a consideration. For example, I've heard of
a Volumetric Fog plug-in for LW that will only be available for Alphas
due to the huge amount of time it takes. I understand that -- no sense
in having a plug-in it takes 30 hrs. per frame.
But a new version of Sparks, or a similar plug-in, does make sense, since
it is not prohibitive on the (currently) slower machines.
About ARexx Macros being ported to the IBM, like MacroForm: I agree with
that, too. That, however, is a somewhat different matter than simply
re-compiling and slightly altering portable C. The Macros have to be
re-programmed from scratch. While I believe it should be done, I also
believe it is a greater undertaking than porting C. (except for Bob Hood,
who is just churning'em out!)

About that, I believe ESCOM has announced (and various others) that the
first 100,000 A1200s and 20,000 A4000 planned for recent production are
already sold. Advertising campaigns are going to start. The Amiga is
not dead yet.
Also, as I recall, most Amiga software is signifigantly cheaper for the
Amiga than PC. I'm willing to bet that if LW wasn't an Amiga product
1st, where Amiga users expect lower prices, LW PC would have been closer
to 3DS pricing.
Don't want to start a platform war (although I DO tend to do that); just
wanted to point it out...
Sorry if this sounds defensive or flame-like... just point out why I
think so...
OK, that's my soapboxing for the day. :)
